USB Drive Failure Reasons
●The Quality of the Parts is Bad
USB drive contains controller and memory chips. The lower the quality, the higher the failure rate. The price difference in USB drives often comes from the chip quality.
During production, chips that did not pass the inspection are sometimes used for lower cost USB drives. These USB given out as prizes at times often use foreign chips and do not have brands.
■High Quality USB Drive
SONY USB Drive
Toshiba made chip is being used.
■No Brand USB Drive
No brand or model number.
The chip contains no brand information. These often lost their data even after scanning.
■USB Drive Given out as Prizes
The left is standard brand internals. The right is USB manufactured at a cheaper cost, and has a much simpler internal design.
■USB Drive with a Rare Structure
There is a microSD card connected to the board, most likely to lower the cost by combining excess parts.
●Chip Wear and Lifespan
USB drives have a limited use (theoretical and recommended). If you use them often, the general lifespan is about 3 to 4 years.
If accessing data is slower, there is most likely a wear on the USB. If used for over 5 years, it is recommended to replace it.

●Static Electricity
It is not uncommon to lose data due to static electricity when you plug in your USB drive. Since it occurs in a matter of a second, it is hard to diagnose the cause. During winter time, if there was a zap or power goes out when plugged in, it is electrical malfunction.
●Update Failure or Misclick
If data was lost due to misclick of some sort, the data is usually still there and recovery is possible.
●Unique Failures
These are cases where you unfortunately got a USB prone to failure.
These may fail even though you just bought it or rarely use it. Electrical appliances are all unique individually.
